What exactly does meditation do? I tried meditating for 365 days in a row…it was difficult, then easy, then it was TRIPPY, then it was…well, I just let you watch.
Watch here:
You might be wondering “What does meditation do for you? What does it look like? What should I expect? How does meditation work? What happens when you meditate for a year?”
I made this video in hopes of inspiring you to try a meditation challenge for yourself. I didn’t start with meditating 1 hour a day. In fact, my meditation routine was waaaayyy simpler than that. It had one rule: Just show up. Every day. Minimum 10 minutes.
And let me tell you right now: a 30 day meditation challenge is NOT ENOUGH TIME.
I didn’t start experiencing the good stuff until I was about 6 months in. You might not be up for a 365 meditation challenge, but I do recommend you keep at it as long as you can. The benefits of daily meditation are unique to everyone (although there are undoubtedly a lot of common meditation results).
The first few months are all about learning HOW to meditate and building healthy habits. The daily habits are the hardest part because everything will need to adjust to make space for a meditation challenge. I had some really crazy experiences, some really beautiful experiences, and so much deep growth.
In this video I dive in to:
- Why I set the goal
- The guideline I set for myself
- Establishing my routine
- Missing the first day of my streak and how I handled it
- Why a 30 day challenge isn’t enough time
- When I really started to see the benefits
- First trippy experience
- The second day I missed
- Experimenting with new meditations
- When things started to get really trippy
- Distractions
- Losing Motivation
- Making progress, experiencing heightened awareness, and expansion
- Health curve balls
- Lack of interest
- My final results
- Will I maintain daily meditation?
- Over all and moving forward
