Evergreen webinar funnels used to be the holy grail for digital entrepreneurs: build it once, automate everything, and make sales in your sleep.
But let’s be real, those days are fading fast.
If your “passive” funnel isn’t converting the way it used to, it’s not just you. Most evergreen webinar funnels are underperforming right now, and there’s a reason why.
So I tore mine down and rebuilt it from the ground up. The result?
📈 I went from a 1% conversion rate to 10%, all while keeping 80% of my funnel automated.
In this blog post, I’m breaking down exactly:
Why evergreen webinars are losing traction
What I changed to rebuild mine for modern buyers
And how I keep it high-converting without burning myself out

Why Evergreen Funnels Are Failing
For years, evergreen webinars were a go-to strategy. Set it and forget it. A good one could bring in 2–5% conversion rates with little ongoing effort.
But that was before we hit what I call the trust recession.
Audiences started tuning out. They’d been burned too many times, sitting through fluffy, overhyped webinars that promised big but delivered little. Coaches became inaccessible. Webinars turned into 20-minute intros, 5 minutes of content, and 45-minute pitches. People caught on.
Result? Lead costs went up. Conversion rates went down. ROI tanked.
What I Did to Fix It (And Hit 10% Conversions)
Here’s what I changed:
1. A Webinar That Actually Teaches
My new webinar opens with a short, trust-building intro, followed by 30–40 minutes of real education, including:
Stats on small business owners they need to know
Common (but encouraged) mistakes to avoid
What to do instead, using my proven framework
No fluff. No gimmicks. Just value woven through storytelling and backed by client proof. The pitch itself is only 10–15 minutes, and even that is packed with trust factors, video testimonials, and social proof.
2. A Human-Forward Experience
I ditched the traditional webinar platform and went live on Zoom. Why? Because people trust people they can see and talk to.
I open the chat before the class even starts. I do a live Q&A where no question is off-limits. I encourage two-way conversation via email and text before the class. The entire thing is built around relationship and real connection.
In an AI-saturated world, being human is your competitive edge.
3. Smart, Minimal Tech
Even though I’m live, I still use automation—just not where it hurts the experience. I use GoHighLevel (my channel sponsor) for:
Custom landing pages (separate ones for cold and warm traffic)
Tagging and segmenting signups
Text and email follow-up automations
Checkout pages integrated with my course platform (Experiencify)
If I were starting today, I’d probably just use GoHighLevel’s built-in course features and keep everything in one place.
The Product + The Numbers
The webinar sells my high-ticket Breakthrough Boss® program, which teaches solopreneurs how to build real, profitable businesses with strong foundations and scalable strategies.
Before the rebuild, my evergreen funnel had:
60% signup rate
90% attendance (instant access)
❌ Only 10% watched more than 10 minutes
❌ 1% conversion at best… and dropping
Now, my live webinar has:
30–35% signup rate
30–40% attendance
✅ 80% still present at the pitch
✅ 10% conversion on a cold audience (and up to 18% with warm!)
Time Spent: Is It Worth It?
Most people assume a live funnel takes more time, and it can. But my team and I spend just 3 hours per week running it.
I spend 2 hours total for prep, delivery, and light follow-up
My team adds another hour or so for admin and co-hosting
That’s it. For a funnel that performs 10x better than before? Worth it.
Final Thoughts (And What’s Next)
Look, this didn’t happen overnight. I spent weeks creating the new webinar, building automations, tweaking things, testing messaging, and improving metrics. But the results were worth the effort.
Don’t beat yourself up if you’re not there yet. Funnel flops come before funnel wins.
